I think it's time we just made it official and banned winning in commander. Winning ruins the game for casual players and should only be allowed at cEDH tables. Also, using tutors, boardwipes, counterspells, wheels, infect, eldrazi, slivers, combos, blue mana, reserved list cards, or mana rocks that cost less than 3 mana makes you a bad person who should be permanently exiled from all LGS and playgroups.

cEDH is EDH. There is no difference outside the mind of a few misguided individuals.

I'm not sure much can be done about it: casual players getting outpaced by increasingly more efficient cards as those decks approach cedh levels need to either adjust themselves or have constant 'Rule zero' conversations which honestly given how many videos we see almost every day about this topic it's just not going to work out. Conversely, if you try to ban Nadu or Thassa's from the entire format, cedh players now have a big enough community along with many tournaments that they would probably just essentially build a Rogue Commander Rules Committee (That was fun to say btw!). The reason being that the RC² would likely need to do a lot less work to divorce cedh from commander by just saying 'No, we don't agree: Nadu is back and while we're at it, bring back Coalition Victory and Golos too' as even if Nadu has decent conversion rates in cedh overall, it's nowhere near being mature enough to actually win tournaments yet: That's still overwhelmingly the tried and true decks: Tymna/Kraum, Rog/Si, etc. It hasn't changed other than Nadu getting enough wins to enter the top 16 lists but rarely actual tournament wins. So in the end, imho the commander rules committee needs to do a better job at communicating that they're not *just* overseeing casual commander but cedh as well to stop the endless crying about banning X or Y cards extremely prematurely or just actually start doing *SOMETHING* to build towards a more casual format they want to encourage: they might think their inaction makes them neutral but we all know it makes them heavily favor cedh against the interest of casual players all while preaching more about the casual side when their actions (Or in this case, lack thereof) indicate the opposite position anyway.

For the most part I agree with you, the important thing is for everyone to be on the same page through discussion. I'm not personally interested in playing at a highly competitive level but do watch some cEDH content every now and again and its pretty interesting to watch. The saddest thing is really the people being super toxic towards the "other crowd" just because they like to play at a different level.

Their is zero drawback for edh players. Get rid of cedh out of edh it's simple they are a toxic parasite to the original format. If duel commander players can do it so can cedh. They just want to take EDH and make it their own instead.

First the tournaments are non sanctioned so using that is where rule 0 comes in. Explaining to players the rules of a non sanctioned tournament is part of rule 0. Second commander is “competitive” in all aspects of commander so just drop the C and keep it as is called EDH (period). Third while it is competitive not everyone wants and needs to win at all costs especially in a “casual” environment. Besides you don’t win anything more or lose anything less playing a casual card game. I have yet to hear someone go to the top off the roof top telling the whole world that life is so great now cause they won at a casual game of cards. Or someone get so depressed they cried and need therapy cause they lost. It’s a game, get over yourselves

I'd say that there's already a split between EDH AND cEDH and that's because of rule 0 discussion and gameplay expectations. I firmly believe that EDH/cEDH does not need a Rules Committe or ban list, because it's an unsanctioned fan format to begin with!

Cedh is not true edh. It's way too much

Isochron is so oldschool and the triskadekaphile, while not being impossible is super telegraphed in any pod with decent amounts of interaction. Food chain also requires that there’s no interaction, yeah all of these combos are super easy if no one can cast anything on your turn but they’re also dead, stand alone pieces if either half is missing or interrupted. Helm of the host is way too much mana for any deck that isnt cheat equipments or costs to equip. Can trips are fundamentally not progressing the board and are barely good with fetchlands. The payoff of running them to draw two cards maybe is bad. You’re better off with whitemane lion or shrieking drake as consistent ways to trigger ms.bumbleflower’s draw two. And they have added utility to bounce back other creatures to reuse etbs. You can then use them to have an Alluren combo and just cast them infinitely for no mana and either pieces have utility outside of their combo lines.

Grist... doesnt tap... the insects... he just makes insects... "Create a 1/1 black and green insect creature token, then mill a card. if an insect card was milled this way, put a loyalty counter on Grist and repeat this process." Unless I missed something else thats tapping them, they need to reread their +1

Words of Wind. If I have 2 zero drops I can use to produce mana (or one I can flash in), I can keep replacing the Flubs draws with bouncing them to hand and casting them again, effectively Cyclonic rifting whenever I want

The combo you mentioned at 4:00 wouldn't work the way I think you're intending. When you cast Ignorant Bliss, Flubs' cast trigger will go on the stack above it, causing you to have to discard a card before you resolve Ignorant Bliss and remove all cards from your hand. Flashback also retains the original casting speed limitations of the card so I'm assuming that means you're casting the flashback after the Ignorant Bliss resolves? So we cast Ignorant Bliss, Flubs will trigger, but when this resolves we still have our whole hand; we first discard a card, then remove our hand. Then we flashback Faithless Looting, again triggering Flubs but this time our hand is empty when it resolves; we draw a card, then draw two, then discard two. Finally, at the end of our turn we return the previously removed hand and draw a card. Though-out the whole process, we have spent 5 mana to cast a card from hand, discard 3 cards, see 4 new cards, but keeping only two of them, this gives us the same number of cards we started with. The only time this could maybe pay off is after faithless looting has resolved and we get our pick of 1 out of 3 cards to keep in hand and that being the only card in hand. You could then ride the Flubs trigger until you run out of mana, but seeing that we've already sunk 5 into setting this up, you'd be lucky to get two additional, impactful, spells off. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't really see a likely or worthwhile scenario where we end up more cards then we started with.

Keep him in mind for 32 years from now when there are enough 0-cost artifacts for you to just turn 1/2 Thassa's.

i think most people like the frog cause its ages since wizzards did have cards with downsides and cause those lead to interesting deck builds.

Looks cool but I rather go hate bears and solemnity. One of the people in my pod has to but counters on creatures, and I think I’ve had enough of that

Back on the day when the Eldrazi first game out we used to play 4 to 6 player games but with modern or standard decks. My brother played mono green elf Eldrazi deck. He"d typically alwaus win; however my my Lwyorn themed Treefolk Deck was his biggest threat.

Playing ms. Bumble flower and the deck, I can say that the extra card draw you give opponents really does not affect you nearly as much as you would think. You are constantly drawing more than everyone else.

The store I go to absolutely hates Eldrazi xD And I have two Eldrazi decks. It's actually kinda hard to play cause if you get just a little ahead the whole table turns at you real quick.

Captain rex says "if this vehicle deals damage" not "if this vehicle deals combat damage to a player" completely different card with that ability lol. They don't need evasion. Don't need a fling ability because fling exists is the WORST take for a commander deck I have heard in some time. Fling takes up a spot in your deck. I feel like edh content creators like you only look at power level of a commander when such things as FUN exist. The flavor of the commander is so good too.

I run surveil lands

Wow, that isn’t the worst showings for a certain deck using counters I’ve ever seen, but it’s Top 3, and beaten out only by a complete mana flood and a Jeweled Lotus + Mana Crypt and land drop T1 Vorinclex, MR that got Greaves on T2. Poor guy. I really wanted to see how that deck plays, too.

You could quite literally buy the pirate precon and have Edward Kenway Pilot as the commander and would be away swinging

Annihilator got stealth nerfed once every deck can basically spawn treasure tokens by just existing.

Eldrazi are only strong in casual commander, as most people are hesitant to swing into a player to keep their life low without provocation. If an eldrazi player sits down, they know their game plan is to survive until the haymakers are deployed. Basically, it's this: if you get run over by eldrazi, you lost the game for yourself.
